Meta Advantage+ placement expansion called out in map

Feed, Reels, and Stories remain distinct surfaces; Advantage+ can override manual placement selections in delivery.

The placement map shows inventory categories. Live Ads Manager may collapse delivery into Advantage+ placements. Export placement breakdowns weekly — Reels CPM often diverges from Feed even with identical creative.

Demand Gen vs Display — overlap, not a single merge

Google still lists Display and Demand Gen as separate campaign types. Several surfaces overlap (Gmail Promotions, YouTube inventory). PMax also routes responsive display assets to GDN inventory.

Discovery campaigns rebranded to Demand Gen in 2023. Display Network campaigns remain for image/responsive prospecting across publisher sites and apps. Demand Gen focuses on Discover, Gmail, and YouTube social-style formats. PaidScope keeps both campaign nodes and documents shared surfaces explicitly. Before running DG and Display together, check the Demand Gen vs Video playbook for YouTube overlap and placement reports for duplicate delivery.

AI Overviews sponsored links added to Search surfaces

Search campaigns and Performance Max text variants can serve sponsored links inside AI Overview answer blocks on qualifying queries.

This surface is SERP-verified, not listed on a single static Help inventory page. It appears on commercial and informational queries where Google renders an AI Overview. Eligibility is still expanding — treat as directional and confirm in the SERP audit checklist.

Waze sponsored pin documented as Maps-class surface

Promoted pins in the Waze navigation app are mapped to Performance Max and local-focused campaigns with location assets — UI-sourced, not one Help page.

Operators running local PMax or Smart campaigns with strong location signals may see Waze delivery. Wireframe uses UI evidence type. Report gaps via the missing-surface form on Identify.
